Burglary Dwelling

Devon Drive, Diggle – Bodily force used to gain entry through the back door, offenders removed alarm panel from within the property.

Rivington Road, Springhead – Offenders threw a large pebble through the rear ground floor bedroom window.

Cornwall Crescent (Distraction burglary). Offender flashed a black wallet at the tenant telling her she had been burgled and to go and have a look. Whilst she was checking her property the offender made off with cash from the house.

Delph Lane – A burglar used a large stone from the back garden to smash a glass panel in the rear door and stole small items of jewellery.

All the above burglaries occurred during the day.

Burglary (Other)

Delph New Road – Property was stolen from shipping container.

Bouncers Play Centre, Diggle – A float was stolen from the premises.

Gartside Street, Delph – A lock was forced on a garage door but access was not gained.

Bleak Hey Nook, Delph – Two pedal cycles stolen from a rear locked garden shed.

Slackcote Lane, Denshaw – Burglars gained entry to out buildings and stole tools valued at £2,400.

Vehicle crime (Theft from A Vehicle)

Oldham Road, Denshaw – Food stolen

Ammons Way, Delph – Two pedal cycles stolen off a secure cycle carrier.

Diggle Mill, Dickens Lane – Quad bike stolen from the forecourt.

Harrop Green – Offenders pushed a lock through into the door skin.

Vehicle crime (Theft of A Vehicle)

Delph Lane – Thief stole a vehicle using the vehicle’s key.

Criminal Damage

Delph Lane – Vehicle damage

Grains Road – Vehicle damage

St Thomas Friarmere Church – Vehicle damage

Huddersfield Road, Waterhead – Damage to ground floor window.

Oldham Road, Delph – Damage to bus shelter.

Other News

There have been several burglaries throughout the Saddleworth area.  These have been occurring between the hours of 12pm and 6pm.  The offenders have been using stones from back gardens to break windows and doors at the rear of properties.

Greater Manchester Police are asking residents to be extra vigilant and security conscious, reporting any suspicious activity/persons to the police.
